RASC News Agency: On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York City, the foreign ministers of 12 countries of the world asked the Taliban group to end the widespread violation of human rights.
The ministers of 12 countries of the world have raised this demand in a declaration at the end of the meeting that was held on September 19, hosted by the Foreign Minister of Luxembourg and the Global Center “Responsibility to Protect” regarding the rights of Afghanistani women and girls.
At the end of a meeting on the rights of Afghanistani women and girls, these ministers have published a joint declaration under the title of confronting systematic gender discrimination against women and girls in Afghanistan.
In a statement of these ministers, it is stated that the foreign ministers of Albania, Belgium, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta and Spain, asked the Taliban group to stop the widespread and systematic violation of the rights of Afghanistani women and girls.
They have said that since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, this group has removed Afghanistani women and girls from the society through numerous orders.
In a statement of these ministers, it is stated that they are extremely concerned about what is called the institutionalization of gender harassment by the Taliban group in Afghanistan.
These ministers stated in their announcement that according to the report of the United Nations Women’s Department, one out of every two women in this country faced domestic, physical and sexual violence last year.
In a declaration of these ministers, it is stated that this situation has led to devastating effects on the psyche of Afghanistani women and girls, and the Taliban group must be held accountable.
They said that in addition to the violation of human rights, they also condemned the bans on education and training and considered it effective in the process of providing humanitarian aid.
They asked the Taliban group to respect human rights and stop gross violations of human rights and freedoms and allow women and girls to have access to individual freedoms equal to basic rights, including education and work.
According to the joint declaration of the foreign ministers of 12 countries, in order to ensure sustainable peace, stability and prosperity in Afghanistan, an inclusive political process with the full participation of all Afghanistani citizens, including women and girls, ethnic and religious groups and minorities, is necessary.
