RASC News Agency: Local sources in Balkh province in the north of the country confirm that a military officer of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the previous government has been mysteriously killed in the province.
Based on information from sources; this officer was Faiz Mohammad (son of Mullah Askar, one of the famous figures of Balkh) and he was murdered in his home last night on September 6.
A source confirmed to RASC news agency that this incident took place in the seventh district of Mazar-Sharif, the center of Balkh province.
There is still no more information about the motive and nature of this incident, but the sources said that the police forces of the Taliban group have started more investigations to clarify this incident.
This is despite the fact that targeted assassinations in parts of the northern and northeastern provinces of the country have increased in the last few months, which has raised concerns among the people.
While the Taliban group claims to plan to prevent assassinations and targeted killings, in practice it can be seen that these phenomena are increasing day by day.
In some cases, the same Taliban group is also accused of suppressing, arresting, torturing and killing officers and soldiers of the previous government, which has been confirmed by independent international organizations.
In a recently published report, the United Nations addressed this issue and said that the Taliban is one of the main perpetrators of killing, arresting and torturing the soldiers of the previous government.
It is said that after the establishment of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, one of the strategic goals of this group was to identify, arrest, torture and kill the employees and military officers of the previous government.
