RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation under the Taliban announced that, in the past two days, 837 Afghanistani refugees were expelled from Pakistan by Pakistani police. According to a statement released on Saturday, April 20th, by the ministry on the social media platform X, these refugees were returned to the country via the Torkham and Spin Boldak (Kandahar) border crossings.
The statement mentioned that these refugees were expelled from Pakistan on Thursday and Friday, Apr 18, and 19, and returned to Afghanistan. The second phase of forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan began on April th. In the first phase, Pakistan expelled nearly 550,000 Afghanistani refugees back to the country, many of whom were forcibly deported by the police.
The Taliban and international organizations have repeatedly called on the Pakistani government to halt the deportation of Afghanistani refugees. In the second phase of deportations from Pakistan, it is expected that at least 400,000 Afghanistani refugees will be expelled from the country.
According to Pakistani media reports, more than 8,500 Afghanistani refugees were previously expelled from the country.
