RASC News Agency: Officials in the Afghanistan section of the World Food Program have announced the reduction of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan due to budget cuts.

Officials have announced that 111 million dollars are needed to help the needy Afghanistani people in the coming months, and if these aids are not available to them on time, humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan will decrease.

Wahidullah Amani, the spokesperson of the United Nations World Food Program in Afghanistan, told the media today, Wednesday, August 30: “In the remote areas, where the roads are blocked with the first snowfall, more than three million people need humanitarian aid and for distribution “For this number of needy people, we must store food aid in advance, and an urgent budget is needed to store these materials.”

At the same time, Roza Otunbaeva, the special representative of the UN Secretary General for Afghanistan and the head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), has expressed concern about the increase in poverty in Afghanistan.

He added that most of the humanitarian aid in Afghanistan is provided by Western countries, and these countries demand that the Taliban group provide the rights of Afghanistani women and girls in order to provide aid. This is despite the fact that with the Taliban group regaining control over the country, this group imposed many restrictions on the lives of citizens, especially women, and prohibited women from training, studying, and working in government offices and foreign organizations. It should be mentioned that banning women from working in government offices and UN institutions has increased the scope of poverty and need in the country.
