RASC News Agency: OCHA said in its latest report on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan that the reduction of the budget ceiling will lead to the worsening of the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan in the coming months.
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid of the United Nations (OCHA) has announced that due to the reduction of 1.3 billion dollars in the budget of this organization, a number of vulnerable people in Afghanistan face hunger, disease and even death in the cold season.
OCHA, which published its report on the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan on Sunday, August 13, said that this institution faced a lack of funding in the past, as a result of which the beneficiaries of aid in Afghanistan decreased from 13 million people to nine million people.
This international organization added that currently, due to the lowering of the budget ceiling, humanitarian aid is provided to only five million of the nine million vulnerable Afghanistani people.
In addition, nearly 262 mobile health centers that were working in the health sector for two million Afghanistani have also been forced to stop providing services.
This department warns that if additional funds are not received, 2,800 local schools will be closed by the end of August, in which about 141,000 people are engaged in education.
According to OCHA information, this institution has received only 801 million dollars of funding this year, which provides nearly 25% of the needs.
This is despite the fact that a few days ago, this department warned that the lack of funds will deprive nearly 166,000 children in Afghanistan of education.
It should be noted that with the dominance of the Taliban group, the statistics of poverty, unemployment, and human crises have increased in Afghanistan, and this group, by opposing the education of girls, deprived them of education and ordered some international institutions to stop their activities in the field of education.
