RASC: According to local sources in Ghazni province, the death toll due to Taliban shooting on mourners in this province has reached four.
On Saturday, July 29, the sources confirmed that four people, including a 12-year-old child, were killed and at least 10 others were injured as a result of the Taliban group’s shooting yesterday in Ghazni’s Now Abad area.
The sources said that these people were killed and injured after direct firing by the Taliban group.
The local officials of the Taliban group in Ghazni province have not said anything about this so far.
The Taliban imposed stricter restrictions on the organizers of this year’s Ashura ceremony.
At the same time, the members of the Taliban group have also fired bullets at the gathering of mourners in Dasht Barchi area of Kabul city.
So far, no details have been provided about the casualties of this group’s shooting in Kabul.
Celebration of Ashura is the Shia Muslim community group culture, which they celebrate the day of Imam Hussain martyrdom on Karbala. Shia community held this ceremony from that time until now.
It is mentionable that, after Taliban group took control of the country they removed Ashura holiday from the country calendar. As well as, this year this group imposed many restrictions on the Ashura celebration, which faced much national and international criticism.
Taliban leaders still did not give clear opinion and declaration about this restriction and the number of casualties in the country on the eve of Ashura ceremony.
