Panjshir Studies Center: Taliban’s Three-Year Rule Yields No Benefits for the Province

RASC News Agency: The Panjshir Studies Center has released a detailed investigative report claiming that the Taliban has failed to initiate or complete any developmental projects in Panjshir province over the past three years. The report reveals that 98% of respondents stated they had witnessed no developmental activities in the region during this period. The findings emphasize that no public services or initiatives have been undertaken to benefit the residents of Panjshir. According to the report, only a handful of minor projects have been implemented in recent years, and these were exclusively funded and executed by foreign organizations.

The projects cited include two repair initiatives in Paryan district, three in Abshar, one water canal project in Darah, three small-scale endeavors in Shotul, and one each in Rokha and Onaba districts. The report further notes that 97% of respondents believe the Taliban has not undertaken any positive or public welfare efforts in the province. In the past year, the Taliban has reportedly organized 23 gatherings under the slogan of “Support for the Islamic Emirate.” These events were aimed at promoting the Taliban’s agenda, with no space for criticism or dissent permitted.

The report also highlights instances where Taliban officials requested local residents to compose poetry glorifying their rule. Despite their lack of contributions to public welfare, the Taliban has reportedly continued its campaign of arrests and detentions in Panjshir, targeting the province’s youth on various pretexts. This daily harassment underscores the absence of any meaningful progress or governance in the region.
