RASC: A number of Bamiani citizens claim that the contracting agencies of international aid organizations do not deliver humanitarian aid to the real needy.
A resident of Waras district of Bamyan province told RASC: “This district has more than 150,000 people, and the aid sent to this district after the Taliban became active is less than what reaches the needy.”
He claims that humanitarian aid is mostly sent to areas in this province where the local officials of the Taliban group are from.
Another number of Bamiani residents also claim that a number of institutions that have cash aid, give a huge part of this aid to the sector heads and high-ranking officials of the Taliban group in this province, and distribute a small part to the needy which take most of the amount after the distribution process.
Mohiuddin (pseudonym) is a resident of Shibar district; he claims that he was introduced to Bamiyan Immigrant Affairs Department through one of his friends to include relief programs. Nevertheless, after receiving 61,800 Kabuli/Afghani rupees, more than 51,000 of it was taken back from them by the Immigration Department and only ten thousand Kabuli/Afghani rupees were given to them.
On the part of another number of Bamiani citizens, they say: “The local Taliban also take ransom from the implementation of development projects by institutions.”
This is while the news about the suspension of activities of a number of relief organizations in Daikundi due to the blackmail of the Taliban group was published some time ago.
