RASC: The Ministry of Amr Bil Maruf has informed the Taliban group about the increase in complaints of forced marriages in the country and said that the investigation has been started.

According to Akif Mohajer, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Amr Bil Maruf of the Taliban group, the decision to pursue cases related to forced marriages was recently made due to the increase in complaints in this regard, especially in Kabul and Nangarhar.

Previously, reports of forced marriages were published in the media and social networks, especially after the Taliban took control of the country.

According to local people, powerful members of the Taliban group forcibly marry underage local girls by “force and threats”.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Taliban claimed in his Eid message that the rights of Afghanistani women and girls have been secured in accordance with Islamic law.

It should be mentioned that with the imposition of severe restrictions on the education and work of girls and women, as well as the increase in poverty and unemployment, forced marriages, the deterioration of mental health, the cases of suicide among women have increased.
