RASC News Agency: In its latest statement, Amnesty International has implored the Taliban group to make every possible effort to ensure the proper delivery of aid provided by various countries, prominent individuals, and business entities to the people of Herat.
On October 9, the organization released a report in response to the devastating earthquake that struck Herat, emphasizing the urgent need for immediate action and highlighting its paramount importance.

The report quotes Zaman Soltani, Amnesty International’s regional researcher, who emphasizes the crucial significance of directing aid towards vulnerable groups facing compounded challenges during crisis situations. These groups include women, children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. These group of the community is the most in danger part of the the people.
During their visit to Herat, Taliban officials made a public declaration of their intention to provide aid to those in need. However, local residents have reported that despite the presence of both domestic and foreign institutions offering assistance to the victims of the recent earthquake, they have only received aid from private individuals thus far.

The European Union’s representative office for Afghanistan has previously announced that they have allocated 3.5 million euros in aid to the people of Herat. The province of Herat in western Afghanistan has endured the deadliest earthquake and aftershocks in the past four days, resulting in the complete destruction of several villages within the district.
Regrettably, the Taliban group has implemented discriminatory practices in the distribution of aid to individuals affected by the tragic events in Herat.
