RASC: The Ministry of Public Health of the Taliban group has announced that the activities of the International Agency for Emergency Aid are prohibited in Afghanistan, and in a letter, it has demanded a complete halt to the activities of this agency.
The French institute (PU-AMI) had started its activity in the health sector in Afghanistan since 1979.
In a letter to all public health directorates in the provinces, this ministry said to “completely stop” the activity of the institute (PU-AMI), which operates in the health sector.
This ministry has not said anything regarding the banning of this institution.
The sources also confirmed that the officials of this institution on Saturday, July 15, first prohibited the employees from going to work, but later told them to go to work according to the usual procedure.
The sources said that the officials of this institution are talking with the officials of the Taliban group and they are trying to stop the activity of this institution.
It should be mentioned that this institution operates in 22 African, Middle Eastern, Asian and European countries in addition to Afghanistan.
It is said that the Taliban group is trying to make the international institutions hand over their projects to domestic institutions.
Recently, the Ministry of Health of the Taliban group requested the International Committee of the Red Crescent to distribute its health aid through this group.
According to reports, the Red Crescent Committee has cut off its aid to 25 Afghanistan hospitals due to pressure from the Taliban group.
The Associated Press reported last month that the Taliban group interferes in the work of non-governmental organizations and aid in various ways.
According to this report, the members of the Taliban group want the officials of these institutions to increase their share in making decisions about projects and their implementation.
