RASC: Local sources in Badghis say that the Taliban group in this province has hired employees for their propaganda plans on social networks.

Sources on Thursday, July 13, say that the Taliban group in this province has assigned a number of government office workers; after this, by creating user accounts in social networks, they advertise for the benefit of this group.

The sources add that the Taliban group distributed special SIM cards to them and set a monthly amount of money for them as an allowance.

The Taliban group has told these people to create accounts on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook and republish and share accounts that have advertisements for the benefit of this group.

According to the sources, the Taliban group has also urged these people to “report” the accounts that have negative propaganda against the group.

The Taliban group has not said anything about this so far.

It should be mentioned that the Taliban group uses the Twitter platform a lot for their advertisements and in some cases, this company has even given blue badges of approval to the members of this group in exchange for money.

A number of citizens of the country have sometimes published “hashtags” and demanded the deletion of the accounts of the Taliban group on Twitter.

Yesterday, dozens of journalists, civil and political activists, academics, and officials of the former government have called for a boycott of this group by the owner of Twitter, Elon Musk.
