RASC: According to local sources in Bamyan province, the construction of the cave dwellers’ settlement in this province has been stopped at the order of the Taliban group.
According to the sources, on Saturday, July 8, the order to stop the construction of this settlement was issued by the order of Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzadeh.
Sources say that on the order of the leader of the Taliban group, the construction of this settlement has been stopped until further notice.
In addition, according to another source, the land that the Directorate of Migration of the Taliban group and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees considered for the construction of this settlement, and it is located in Jalal hill, located in the north-west of Bamyan city. , and is the property of the municipality of this province.
The source said that: “The head of the municipality of the Taliban group in Bamyan asked the Directorate of Migrants and Returnees of this province and the field office of UNHCR in Bamyan to pay the price of the land on which they plan to build this settlement, and they told them to build the settlement after paying the price.”
The Taliban and the United Nations High Commissioner have not officially said anything about this so far.
The construction of the settlement of the cave dwellers in Bamyan began nearly two months ago, in the presence of Gillian Triggs, the Deputy High Commissioner of the United Nations for Refugees, and Abdullah Sarhadi, the Taliban governor in this province.
It is said that a permanent shelter was supposed to be built in this settlement for 144 cave-dwelling families.
