RASC: According to local sources in Balkh province, Haji Lal, former commander of the local police in Chaharbulak district of Balkh province, was killed by armed men in Mazar-e-Sharif.
In another separate incident on Thursday, July 6, two former members of the security forces, Mirwais and Mohammad Hazara, were also killed in this district.
Sources say that Commander Lal Mohammad was killed on Thursday evening, July 6, in front of his house in “Project S” of the ninth district of Mazar-e-Sharif city.
According to one of the relatives of this commander, he had recently returned to Balkh from Iran through the mediation of a local influencer in the hope of general amnesty for the Taliban group.
In another incident, Mirwais from the former security forces and Mohammad Hazara, one of the police officers of the former government, were killed in the afternoon of the same day in an area of the sixth district of Mazar-i-Sharif.
According to the sources, Mirwais’ father Nadir was also a local commander of the previous government.
Meanwhile, despite the general amnesty, the United Nations representative office announced in a report that the killing of former government employees by the Taliban continues.
Organizations and institutions defending human rights have announced several times that the Taliban group is arresting, torturing and destroying the security forces of the previous government.
