RASC: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says that the United States is seriously supporting terrorist groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
Tass news agency quoted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia as reporting that Lavrov made these statements on Monday, June 5, during a visit to a Russian military base in Tajikistan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia also reacted to the recent words of the American ambassador in Tajikistan about the country’s lack of support for the military groups opposed to the Taliban in Afghanistan and demanded a dialogue from all parties involved in Afghanistan.
He says: “These cases are false statements in the language of diplomacy. It is well known that the US actively supports ISIS militants in Afghanistan, Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups affiliated with it. The goal is not to allow Afghanistan to calm down.”
So far, American officials have not reacted to these statements of the Russian Foreign Minister, but in the past, Washington has always strongly denied supporting the ISIS group in Afghanistan.
After the return of the Taliban to the country, the concern of the neighboring countries regarding the presence of terrorist groups in the country has increased.
Tajikistan, which has the most concern in this regard, has built several military bases in cooperation with Russia along its border with Afghanistan.
