RASC: The Taliban group forcibly evicted people from their homes in most provinces of Afghanistan and forced them to break their fast and perform Eid prayers.
Residents of Balkh and Daikundi provinces told Rask that the Taliban even severely beat some people in Nili city, the center of Daikundi province, for protesting against this action.
The residents of Daikundi province, most of whom are Shiites, have declared Saturday as the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, imitating their religious authorities.
The Taliban have repeatedly forced the Shiites to pray with the imams of Sunnis who have been involved in major crimes and massacres in Afghanistan.
Some residents of Balkh province in northern Afghanistan also said that the Taliban warned them on Friday morning that if they do not perform the Eid prayer today and do not break their fast, the fighters of this group will arrest and beat the elders of the region and the imams of the mosques.
Last week, the Taliban in Balkh province had warned religious scholars of the Shiite religion that this year they would hold Eid -Fitr and Eid prayers at the request of this group.
This is while the Religious Freedom Commission of the United States had previously announced that since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, religious freedom in this country has worsened.
