RASC News Agency: The Spanish government has officially revoked the diplomatic immunity of Mohammad Rahim Pirzada, who previously identified himself as the Taliban’s ambassador to Madrid. Spanish authorities no longer recognize Pirzada as a diplomat, instead classifying him as a criminal suspect following serious allegations of sexual assault and misconduct. In a statement, the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Pirzada has no formal accreditation in Spain and does not represent any legitimate diplomatic mission. According to an exclusive report by The Telegraph, Pirzada is accused of abusing his position to exploit women, including a case where he allegedly administered a potent sedative before committing sexual assault. The report further claims that Pirzada engaged in multiple instances of such criminal behavior.
In September, a Madrid court ruled that it could not proceed with the case due to Pirzada’s diplomatic status. However, with Spain’s decision to strip him of his immunity, legal action against him can now move forward. Pirzada faces multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault, with evidence already submitted to the court. Spain has not recognized the Taliban regime and does not maintain an embassy in Kabul. However, following formal complaints from Afghanistani expatriates residing in Spain, the Spanish government took decisive action to remove Pirzada’s diplomatic protections.
Pirzada had claimed to be the Taliban’s official envoy in Madrid, asserting that he was assisting Afghanistani nationals in the country. However, with his diplomatic status nullified, he now faces potential prosecution under Spanish law.
