RASC News Agency: Local sources in Parwan province report an alarming surge in human rights abuses committed by the Taliban, including widespread looting, arbitrary arrests, and brutal torture of civilians. Eyewitnesses describe a climate of fear and oppression, where cases of sexual violence, extrajudicial executions, and enforced disappearances have become routine under Taliban rule. Aminullah (pseudonym), a resident of Parwan, recounted a harrowing case in which a young man from Jabal al-Siraj district was abducted by Taliban fighters affiliated with a local battalion. The victim was later returned home, bearing signs of severe torture, beatings, and lashings. As with many other atrocities, this crime remained uninvestigated, and no action was taken against the perpetrators.
In recent months, the Taliban in Parwan have faced growing accusations of systematic torture, targeted killings, and sexual exploitation. Multiple independent sources indicate that, beyond the Taliban forces, several humanitarian organizations operated by individuals linked to the group have been actively exploiting vulnerable women under the guise of providing aid. Residents of Parwan have voiced outrage over these corrupt networks, accusing them of preying on those in desperate need of assistance.
Rampant corruption, gender-based violence, and institutionalized repression have become hallmarks of Taliban rule in Parwan and other provinces, all while the international community remains largely silent. Aminullah stressed that rape, abductions, and the elimination of witnesses are not isolated incidents but integral to the Taliban’s governance model in Parwan. He described the group as an occupying force that systematically subjugates women and eliminates dissent through terror and coercion despite its claims of establishing an Islamic government.
Despite mounting evidence of these crimes, international human rights organizations and global powers have yet to take decisive action. Reports from Bamiyan province have also accused local Taliban officials of engaging in mass rape, murder, looting, and widespread torture. Residents of Bamiyan have alleged that Taliban commanders have committed sexual violence against women with complete impunity, further deepening the region’s humanitarian crisis. As the Taliban’s brutal rule tightens its grip on Afghanistan, concerns continue to mount over the lack of accountability and the failure of the international community to intervene effectively.
