RASC News Agency: According to a report by Bakhtar News Agency, which operates under Taliban control, 85 Afghanistani migrant families were either forcibly or voluntarily expelled from Iran and Pakistan on Saturday, October 5. These families re-entered Afghanistan through border crossings in the provinces of Nangarhar, Kandahar, Nimroz, and Herat. The report notes that 25 families crossed into Afghanistan via the Torkham crossing, while 30 families returned through the Spin Boldak route. Additionally, 19 families entered through the Silk Bridge crossing in Nimroz, and 11 others returned via the Islam Qala border.
Research findings highlight that the main causes of the mass exodus of millions of Afghanistani citizens include widespread unemployment, political and ethnic oppression, violence, poverty, deprivation, and systemic linguistic, ethnic, and religious discrimination. Since the Taliban’s resurgence in Afghanistan, over ten million citizens have fled the country, seeking refuge in neighboring nations, with aspirations of reaching Europe. Many migrants initially pass through Iran and Pakistan before continuing to Turkey and onward to Europe.
Those unable to leave these transit countries are often detained by local authorities and forcibly repatriated to Afghanistan, where their safety remains uncertain under the Taliban regime, with no guarantees they will not face arrest or even death.
