RASC News Agency: In a report published by Bakhtar News Agency, now overseen by the Taliban, 319 Afghanistani migrant families were forcibly and voluntarily deported from Iran and Pakistan on Tuesday, October 1st. These deportees were returned to Afghanistan through border crossings in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Nimruz, and Herat provinces.
According to the report, 24 families crossed back via the Torkham border, and 32 families re-entered through Spin Boldak. Additionally, 121 families returned through the Silk Bridge in Nimruz, and 142 families re-entered Afghanistan through Islam Qala in Herat. Meanwhile, findings from a recent study highlight that unemployment, discrimination, injustice, and deteriorating economic conditions are the primary factors driving illegal migration from the country.
Since the Taliban seized power, the group has dismissed the majority of government employees, especially women, from state institutions, replacing them with their own affiliates. Over the last three years, widespread unemployment has gripped the country. Adding to this crisis, Taliban-led ethnic, linguistic, and religious persecution has forced millions of Afghanistani citizens to flee the country, seeking refuge in neighboring nations before attempting to reach Western and European destinations. However, it is becoming evident that these host countries are collectively deporting Afghanistani migrants, despite the severe risks many face under the Taliban regime.
