RASC News Agency: Local sources from Takhar province report that, in a continuation of the arrests and killings of former military personnel, Taliban intelligence forces have now killed the son of a former military officer in the province. Sources informed the media that Taliban intelligence forces abducted Matiullah, the son of Barkatullah, from his home in the village of Mughah in the Shira district of Ashkamish, Takhar, about six days ago. His body was found on Sunday morning, August 4.

According to the sources, Taliban intelligence forces left Matiullah’s body at the doorstep of his home in Ashkamish district. Eyewitnesses recount that after abducting him, Taliban intelligence forces tortured and killed him. Taliban security officials have yet to comment on the incident. This follows a pattern of former military personnel being arrested, tortured, and killed by the Taliban.

In a similar incident, about five days ago, Taliban forces shot a former soldier in the city of Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province, injuring him in the head. Reports indicate that Taliban intelligence forces previously arrested two former soldiers in Dawlat Shah district, Laghman province.
