RASC News Agency: Local sources report that flooding in Paktika province has resulted in the closure of routes to three districts, leaving residents of one village stranded in their homes. On Sunday, August 4th, sources informed the media that this incident occurred last night in the districts of Khir Kot, Yusuf Khel, and Omanay.
According to the sources, this natural disaster has not only blocked roads but also destroyed tens of acres of agricultural land, several houses, and a health center. Witnesses recount that the flooding in the village of Payendakhil Omriakai in Khir Kot district has trapped several families in their homes. Taliban officials have yet to comment on the reopening of these routes or the precise extent of the damages caused by the floods in Paktika. This incident follows significant financial losses due to flooding in various parts of the province the previous day.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department of the Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Aviation announced today that there is a forecast for rain and potential flooding in 18 provinces across the country. It is worth noting that natural disasters annually claim lives and cause substantial financial losses to citizens in various provinces across the country.
