RASC News Agency: Nearly 120 Afghanistani families were expelled from Pakistan and Iran in a single day and returned to Afghanistan. According to a report from Bakhtar News Agency, under Taliban administration, 119 Afghanistani families were forcibly and voluntarily deported from Pakistan and Iran on Friday, August 2. These refugees, many of whom were expelled forcibly, are reluctant to return to Afghanistan. They fled their homeland in search of safety and to support their families. Perceiving their lives to be at risk in Afghanistan, they sought refuge abroad, with some leaving due to unemployment.
The report indicates that these refugees re-entered Afghanistan through border crossings in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Nimroz, and Herat provinces. The Taliban-controlled news agency reports that nine families entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak crossing, while twelve families crossed through Torkham. Additionally, according to the report, 54 families entered through the Pul-e-Abrisham border, and 44 families entered through the Islam Qala border.
In recent days, many Afghanistani refugees in Iran have reported widespread mistreatment by Iranian police and citizens. The Iranian police have reportedly detained and insulted them before deporting them back to Afghanistan. The refugees claim that after the killing of an Iranian citizen in eastern Tehran, local residents have increasingly mistreated them, worsening their situation. Videos circulating on social media over the past week show residents of Tehran’s 15th district chanting “Death to Afghanistani refugees” during a protest, criticizing the Iranian government’s failure to address their plight.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has intensified its expulsion of Afghanistani refugees, raising concerns among those at risk of Taliban threats.
