Escalating Insecurity: Man Murdered in Paktika

RASC News Agency: In the face of growing insecurity in Paktika province, local sources report the brutal murder of a man in the provincial capital, with his wife also sustaining injuries. On Monday, July 8, sources informed the media that the incident occurred the previous night in the “Yarwalo” area of central Paktika province.

According to the sources, the man was beheaded inside his home, and his wife suffered knife wounds during the attack. The Taliban’s police command in Paktika confirmed the incident, noting that two individuals have been arrested in connection with the crime. The motive for the murder remains unclear. This incident highlights a significant rise in criminal activity across various provinces recently.

In a similar event about a week ago, a couple was mysteriously murdered in Farahrud, Farah province. Despite the Taliban’s claims that insecurity has decreased since their takeover, reports suggest otherwise, indicating a surge in such incidents. Previously, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated in his report that security incidents in Afghanistan have increased under Taliban rule.

Additionally, many citizens believe the Taliban are implicated in numerous security incidents, often attributing them to unknown assailants, resulting in inadequate investigations.
