RASC News Agency: Over a four-day period, nearly 12,000 Afghanistani migrants were expelled from Pakistan and Iran, as reported by the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees. Between July 2 and July 5, 11,997 Afghanistani migrants were deported. Pakistan expelled 1,352, while Iran deported 10,645 migrants. According to the ministry, 781 individuals entered Afghanistan via the Torkham crossing and 571 through Spin Boldak.
Additionally, 7,125 returned via Islam Qala in Herat, and 3,520 through Pul-e-Abrisham in Nimroz. Pakistan has initiated the forced expulsion of an additional 800,000 Afghanistani migrants. Al Jazeera previously reported that those who do not voluntarily return face arrest and deportation by Pakistani authorities.
The expulsion of Afghanistani migrants from Iran and Pakistan has intensified, with both countries emphasizing the removal of undocumented Afghanistani nationals. Following the Taliban’s return to power, many Afghanistanis, especially the youth, sought refuge in Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey. However, these countries have subjected them to severe treatment, including detention and sometimes torture, before deporting them back to Afghanistan. Major reasons for migration include unemployment, lack of security, and absence of freedom.
