RASC News Agency: According to report s, women in Takhar Province were prohibited from celebrating Teachers’ Day. Fouzia Nasiri, a teacher and one of the event organizers, disclosed to the media that the celebration was planned to occur on Wednesday morning at around 10:00 a.m. at a Taleqan hotel. However, the Taliban obstructed the event from taking place.

Ms. Nasiri maintained that, prior to the scheduled meeting, Taliban representatives had infiltrated the premises and subjected the female teachers to verbal abuse and degradation, ultimately leading to the disruption of the event. She confirmed that the attendees were exclusively female school teachers and students, yet the Taliban operatives detained them for approximately four hours. As of now, local Taliban officials in Takhar have not commented on the matter.

The Taliban regime has imposed several restrictive measures against women since its resurgence in Afghanistan. The revocation of women and girls’ right to education and employment in the country has raised multiple concerns among women’s groups and human rights advocates.

Following the Taliban’s ascendancy to power, they have imposed numerous restrictions on the fundamental rights of women and girls. These restrictions include the prohibition of females from accessing education, both in universities and schools. Additionally, the Taliban group recently banned beauty parlors by a new order from Mullah Hebatullah Akhundzada, the group’s leader.

Several national and international organizations have repeatedly denounced and criticized these oppressive restrictions implemented by the Taliban. Western countries have also condemned these measures, stating that the Taliban group must lift their violations against Afghanistani citizens if they desire recognition from the international community.
