RASC News Agency: Local sources from Samangan province report that a taxi driver has been arrested by Taliban intelligence forces for criticizing unemployment in the city of Aybak. Sources revealed on Tuesday, June 11, that the Taliban’s intelligence unit detained the driver after he criticized the group’s traffic department in Samangan for imposing exorbitant taxes.

According to a video released on social media, the taxi driver complained about the lack of employment opportunities and the Taliban’s mandate to repaint taxis. The driver, a resident of Aybak, stated that they are unable to afford the cost of repainting their vehicles. Addressing the Taliban’s acting Minister of Transport, the driver said, “Since you took over, we have not had a single good day. You have never listened to our problems and only extort money from us.”

So far, Taliban officials in Samangan have not commented on the arrest of the taxi driver. This incident is not isolated; the Taliban have repeatedly detained and imprisoned citizens for criticizing their actions and policies.
