Taliban Distribute Information Forms to Families in Takhar

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Takhar province report that the Taliban’s intelligence agency has once again distributed confidential information forms in the provincial capital, Taloqan, to collect data on residents. On Sunday, June 2, sources informed the media that Taliban members, accompanied by senior intelligence officials, are distributing these forms in mosques.

According to the sources, the Taliban are requesting information from Taloqan residents about the number of family members, their assets, the amount of money in their bank accounts, and their connections abroad. The Taliban have stated that people are obliged to fill out these forms, which include personal and private family information, and return them.

Sources reported that the forms warn Takhar residents that providing “incorrect” information will result in interrogation and imprisonment. The distribution of these forms and the demand for information is concerning, with one source stating, “This action by the Taliban is a blatant invasion of people’s privacy and goes against human and Islamic principles.”

Sources noted that this is the third time the Taliban have distributed information forms to residents of Takhar’s capital. Previously, there were reports of similar forms being distributed in various provinces, requesting information about family members and whether any of them worked for the previous government, which sparked reactions.
