RASC News Agency: Local sources in Baghlan Province report that Taliban members recently executed a former soldier in the region. Sources informed the media that the Taliban targeted the soldier, identified as Hayatullah Mohammad, on the morning of Saturday, May 25th, in the Silow area of Pul-e-Khumri city.

According to these sources, Hayatullah was exercising in an open area when two Taliban gunmen on motorcycles shot him. Sources indicate that the Taliban killed Hayatullah Mohammad because of his association with the former regime and his status as an influential figure in Andarab.

The execution of former military personnel by Taliban members is not a new occurrence. The Taliban have been accused of arresting, imprisoning, torturing, and even killing hundreds of former soldiers and government employees since taking control of the country.

Moreover, after the Taliban’s takeover, many former soldiers fled the country out of fear and sought refuge in neighboring countries. Others fell victim to the Taliban’s deceptive promises of amnesty.
