RASC News Agency: The completion of a water supply canal in Bamyan city has been announced by the residents of Bamyan province. This infrastructure project was officially inaugurated on Sunday, October 29, marking a significant milestone for the region. The construction of this canal required a substantial investment of over 3,800,000 Kabuli rupees, the current currency in Afghanistan. The United Nations Development Office, recognizing the pivotal role of international collaboration in supporting local development initiatives, provided the funding for this project.

Amid the inauguration ceremony of the irrigation canal, Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadhi, the governor of the Taliban group for Bamyan, underlined the profound positive impact this venture will have on the agricultural sector. He eloquently stated that the operation of this canal will seamlessly address the challenges faced by the residents of Sayeed Abad, ensuring sufficient access to agricultural water. With the introduction of this new water supply, farmers will efforlessly meet their irrigation needs without any apprehensions. It is projected that the canal will significantly benefit approximately 1,500 acres of farmland, thereby substantially enhancing agricultural productivity in the region.

Sarhadhi the governor of the Taliban group for Bamyan province also expressed unwavering dedication to further development projects in Bamyan. He underscored the local administration’s steadfast commitment to collaborating with national and international institutions in the implementation of additional initiatives that will contribute to the overall progress of the province. This focused approach to development is of paramount importance, considering that a significant portion of Afghanistan’s population relies on agricultural and horticultural activities for their livelihoods. By adequately addressing the needs of these communities, Bamyan aims to foster sustainable growth and enhance the quality of life for all its residents.
