RASC News Agency: The Afghanistan Journalists Center has expressed concern about the safety of Afghanistani journalists in Pakistan following an armed attack on an Afghanistani journalist in the country. According to a statement released by the organization on Thursday, Apr 4, the center called for ensuring the safety of Afghanistani journalists in Pakistan.

The Afghanistan Journalists Center stated that Ahmad Hanayesh, a reporter for Radio Azadi and owner of two local media outlets in northern Kabul, was targeted around 11:00 PM on Wednesday night, Apr 3, in the “G-5” area of Islamabad. Pakistan police announced that they would conduct an investigation into the attack on an Afghanistani journalist in Islamabad.

Following the Taliban’s takeover of the country, hundreds of journalists have sought refuge in neighboring countries, especially Pakistan and Iran, due to security threats from the group. Journalists who have migrated to Pakistan are concerned about their safety and urge supporting institutions to take their situation seriously.
