RASC News Agency: Local sources from Helmand Province have reported a traffic incident on the Kandahar-Helmand highway that claimed the lives of at least 21 individuals and left 11 injured. Sources informed the media that this incident occurred early Sunday morning, March 17th, in the vicinity of Girishk district in Helmand Province.

According to sources, the incident transpired when a passenger bus, type 580, collided with an oil tanker and a motorcycle. Subsequently, the passenger bus, carrying several passengers, erupted in flames after the collision. Sources did not provide details regarding the health status of the injured individuals involved in this incident, although previous traffic accidents in various provinces have also resulted in fatalities or injuries.

For instance, on February 21st, a traffic incident on the Kandahar-Helmand highway claimed the lives of two women and injured 10 others. Factors such as driver negligence, road infrastructure deficiencies, speeding, and non-compliance with traffic regulations are cited as contributors to traffic incidents in different provinces across the country.
