RASC News Agency: Some residents of Herat Province have reported the disruption of Turkmenistan’s electricity supply to the province and have noted that several areas within the province are experiencing power outages. Herat residents informed the media on Wednesday, Feb 28, that the province’s electricity supply has been interrupted since the yesterday , Feb 27.
Meanwhile, the Taliban’s electricity department in Herat informed the media that they are investigating any issues with Turkmenistan’s imported power line. Furthermore, the department states that a technical team has examined the imported power line from Turkmenistan, stretching from Kamarkolagh to Rabat Sangi area, but has found no issues.
This development coincides with a recent 50 percent decrease in imported electricity from Iran to Herat Province for reasons unknown. It is noteworthy that a significant portion of Afghanistan’s imported electricity, including that of Herat Province, originates from imports from Iran and Turkmenistan.
