RASC News Agency: The Taliban Ministry of Education in Khost province, in its latest move, has issued a warning to all teachers and staff in the central and district offices of the province, stating that they will be relieved of their duties if they trim their beards. Sources revealed to the media on Saturday, Feb 24, that this warning was issued through a written directive ordered by the leadership of guidance and the Ministry of Education of the Taliban group.
However, some teachers and staff of the Taliban Ministry of Education in Khost province claim that the Taliban group is “looking for excuses” to dismiss them. According to them, the Taliban impose strict restrictions on former government employees daily to facilitate the displacement of their personnel into government offices. It is noteworthy that this action by the Taliban group is not unprecedented, and previously they have taken similar actions in several provinces, suppressing employees of their subordinate institutions.
Furthermore, in some provinces, the Taliban group has requested the general public to keep their beards and has instructed the religious police to prevent people from shaving. This comes as the Taliban group, since their takeover of the country, has imposed extensive restrictions on the type of clothing worn by people as well as regulating their hairstyle and facial hair, often punishing youths for wearing trousers and trimming their beards.
