RASC News Agency: Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, recently responded to comments made by Matthew Miller, the spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State, asserting that whether people approve or not, the Taliban are representatives of Afghanistan and its populace. In an interview with Radio National conducted under the Taliban’s auspices on Wednesday, Feb 21, Zabihullah Mujahid affirmed that the Taliban act as representatives of Afghanistan and its people.
The Taliban spokesperson emphasized, “Regardless of anyone’s opinion, this is a fact that cannot be ignored.” This follows Matthew Miller’s earlier expression of surprise over the Taliban’s absence from the Doha talks, where he mentioned that the group does not hold sole authority over Afghanistan’s future.
It is noteworthy that the Taliban, due to the rejection of their conditions by the United Nations, refrained from participating in the Doha talks organized by the United Nations and focused on Afghanistan—a decision that generated significant reactions.
