RASC News Agency: The Taliban Ministry of Education has announced that more than 35,000 schools and madrasas are operational nationwide, accommodating thousands of students. According to Tolonews, citing Mansoor Ahmad Hamza, spokesman for the Taliban ministry, reported on Sunday, February 18th, that the ministry is committed to creating a balanced environment for both religious and modern education throughout the country.

The Taliban official stated that the curriculum has been revised up to the sixth grade, and the review of the remaining curriculum is ongoing. He added that 15,000 teachers have been assigned their duties during the current solar year. Mansoor Ahmad Hamza further elaborated, “Following the sixth grade, the Taliban Ministry of Education’s curriculum committee is working on the curriculum for seventh, eighth, and ninth grades.” According to information from the Taliban Ministry of Education, approximately 11.5 million students are currently engaged in education within the country, with nearly 5,000 students studying abroad.

This comes as, following the Taliban’s control over the country, girls beyond the sixth grade have been prohibited from attending schools, sparking widespread reactions. However, the Taliban has consistently promised to reopen schools for girls both today and tomorrow but has not taken any effective measures in this regard.
