RASC News Agency: After Pakistani police announced that a young Afghanistani in their country had committed suicide due to mishandling of his immigration case, his sister is now demanding an inquiry into her brother’s death. In a video tape released by Mohammad Khan’s sister, Shafayi, on Saturday night, Feb 17, she stated that according to Islamabad police, the cause and circumstances of her brother’s death are not suicide.

She stated, “My brother had no reason to commit suicide, and the notion that he took this action due to the rejection of his Canadian immigration case is entirely refuted.” According to her, her brother had no Canadian case at all, and she added that the explanations provided by Pakistani police and the timing of their investigation into her brother’s death are questionable and should be investigated. She added that she demands thorough and precise investigations into this case from the Taliban and Pakistani police.

On Saturday, Feb 17, Pakistani police announced that Mohammad Khan Shafayi had committed suicide in the “Bahara Koh” area of Islamabad due to negligence in handling his immigration case to Canada. It is worth noting that following the Taliban’s takeover of the country, many Afghanistani citizens have migrated to neighboring countries, especially Pakistan, due to existing threats from the group and the handling of their immigration cases.
