RASC News Agency: Abdul Mutalib Haqqani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Migrants and Returnees of the Taliban group, announced that over 50,000 Afghanistani migrants have been expelled and returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan during the past two weeks. According to a report broadcasted on national television under the Taliban’s administration on Wednesday, Feb 14, this Taliban official has informed about the distribution of phone SIM cards, cash, and healthcare services to the expelled migrants at border crossings.
The Taliban group’s spokesperson stated that during the past two weeks, 45,000 migrants from Iran and another 5,000 from Pakistan have been expelled and returned to Afghanistan. Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the political deputy of the Taliban’s cabinet, remarked during a visit to the Torghundi border crossing yesterday that neighboring countries should not force Afghanistani migrants to return under harsh conditions.
Meanwhile, Pakistan initiated the process of compulsory expulsion of undocumented Afghanistani migrants since November last year, resulting in the return of half a million migrants to Afghanistan according to reports since then. It is worth mentioning that the compulsory expulsion of undocumented Afghanistani migrants from Pakistan has sparked widespread reactions; however, Pakistan attributes it to economic and security challenges and continues the process.
