RASC News Agency: In the ongoing trend of domestic violence across different provinces of the country, a man in Baghlan province has fatally assaulted his 35-year-old wife with a stone. Sources in Balkh have informed the media that this incident took place yesterday, Feb 9, in the Khwaja Alwan area of Dand-e Ghori district in the province.

According to information gathered from Balkh sources, domestic violence has been identified as the cause and motive behind the incident, resulting in the woman’s fatal head injury from the stone blow. Meanwhile, Baghlan police have confirmed the incident and stated to the media that the woman’s husband fled the scene after committing the act; however, authorities have since apprehended him.

This development occurs amidst a two-year period of Taliban governance in Afghanistan, during which the incidence of domestic violence in various provinces of the country has surged. Experts cite poverty, unemployment, familial challenges, mental health issues, premature marriages, coercion, and drug dependency among the contributing factors to such incidents.
