RASC News Agency: Local sources from Faryab province have reported the shooting death of an 18-year-old woman in the Shireen Tagab district of the province. According to sources on Wednesday, Feb 7, it has been conveyed to the media that this young woman was murdered earlier this week in the village of “Arab Toup-Khanah” in this district.
The victim, identified as Nasimah, had her killing confirmed by Taliban sources, yet they have not provided any motive for the act. The Taliban’s security command in Faryab issued a newsletter stating that their forces have detained the husband, brother-in-law, and stepson of Nasimah’s husband in connection with the murder.
This occurs amid a surge of highly violent and oppressive behaviors towards women in various provinces following the Taliban’s control over the country. In the latest incident, according to sources, Taliban members shot a young woman in Balkh province and left her body by the roadside.
Moreover, in recent weeks, the Taliban have detained numerous girls and women from various areas in Kabul city and other provinces under the pretext of not adhering to their desired dress code. Throughout their more than two-year rule, the Taliban have been accused of widespread human rights abuses, particularly against women and girls, democracy, and freedom of expression.
