RASC News Agency: Local sources from Badakhshan have reported an incident involving a teenager who was subjected to torture and severe beatings by Qari Mahfouz, the Taliban intelligence director for Baharak district. The reason behind this brutal act was stated to be the teenager’s failure to greet the director. The incident took place during a public meeting on the evening of January 30th, as confirmed by media sources.

The victim, identified as 16-year-old Payenda Mohammad, was attacked by Qari Mahfouz in the bazaar of Baharak district in Badakhshan province. Sources have revealed that the teenager suffered serious injuries due to the torture inflicted by the Taliban official. Currently, Payenda Mohammad is receiving medical treatment at Baharak Hospital, but his health condition remains critical.

This incident sheds light on the increasing restrictions imposed by the Taliban group on citizens, particularly targeting young people and women. The group has resorted to extreme violence and abusive behavior towards them. Prior to this incident, reports emerged of Taliban members insulting and assaulting numerous young individuals across different provinces for reasons such as cutting their beards and hair, wearing pants, and even listening to music.
