RASC News Agency: Amidst the escalating criminal activities across diverse provinces of the nation, sources from Kabul province have recently affirmed the disappearance of a civil society activist and a former government official from the jurisdiction of this province. On Monday, January 1st, sources disclosed to the media that the individual in question, 35-year-old Mohammad Ewaz Hamzar, played an active role in the previous government, holding a position in the Ministry of Higher Education. According to sources, Mohammad Ewaz went to Iran after the Taliban assumed control of the country but faced expulsion from Iran on November 6th, subsequently returning to the country. Accounts suggest that he went missing from the fifth district of Kabul city’s jurisdiction since December 7th.
Based on information from Kabul province, Mohammad Ewaz Hazara Ismaili belonged to the Hazara sect and had entered into matrimony with a Sunni Tajik woman. This development unfolds at a juncture when the incidence of criminal activities, especially enigmatic and targeted assassinations, abductions, and armed robberies, has markedly surged across various provinces of the nation. It is noteworthy that some citizens contend that individuals associated with the Taliban are implicated in numerous criminal incidents across various provinces, participating in such actions for diverse motives.
It should be highlighted that subsequent to their assumption of power, the Taliban, apart from targeting the military of the former government, have embraced severely repressive and violent conduct towards other civilian officials of the preceding government. Simultaneously, it is crucial to observe that the Taliban group exhibits dualistic behavior towards adherents of different religions in the nation, subjecting them to suppression for various reasons. A prior statement from a member of this group classified all the people of Afghanistan as followers of the Hanafi sect.
