RASC News Agency: Amidst the alarming landscape of burgeoning poverty and escalating unemployment in Afghanistan, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recently unveiled a commitment of $6.7 million, aiming to assuage the challenges faced by the Afghanistani people. The ministry has meticulously delineated an allocation, directing $3.8 million to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), while an additional $2.9 million is meticulously earmarked for the World Food Programme, poised to facilitate indispensable assistance.

Espen Barth Eide, the Foreign Minister of Norway, has emphatically reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering dedication to delivering substantive humanitarian aid to the Afghanistani people, eloquently accentuating the enduring and unwavering nature of these contributions. In articulating his sentiments, Eide expressed, “I am pleased that we can not only sustain but also amplify our support to UN agencies operating both at the border and within the intricate fabric of Afghanistan.”

The ministry’s official statement has underscored the imperative for heightened assistance, particularly for the most recent migrants returning from Pakistan to Afghanistan, a necessity underscored by the encroaching winter. This narrative unfolds against a nuanced backdrop where, over the past biennium, poverty and unemployment in the nation have scaled unprecedented heights, eliciting profound concerns and resonating deeply within the collective consciousness of the Afghanistani populace.

It is imperative to highlight the poignant reality that the forced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan and Iran, coupled with Occurrence of earthquakes in the Herat province, has markedly exacerbated the prevailing poverty, compelling the affected populations to urgently and fervently seek comprehensive international assistance. Noteworthy is the observation that, subsequent to the Taliban’s assumption of power in Afghanistan, global aid to the nation has experienced a discernible contraction, influenced by a myriad of complex and interwoven reasons.
