RASC News Agency: Reports have emerged regarding the targeted killings of Shias in Herat province, coinciding with the Taliban group’s recent announcement of the elimination of a prominent member of the ISIS group. Additionally, the intelligence forces have apprehended several other members of this group. The terrorist team in question was allegedly engaged in anti-Shia operations in Herat, and upon investigation, two weapons were discovered alongside the deceased individual. Furthermore, it has been revealed that some of the arrested individuals hold significant positions and have been involved in various criminal activities.
The most recent action carried out by this ISIS-affiliated terrorist team took place on December 1st, resulting in the loss of numerous Afghanistani Shia citizens, including religious scholars, in Jibaril town, Herat. In response to this incident, a specialized team comprising technical and professional experts from the Taliban group has initiated an investigation. It is anticipated that further details regarding this matter will be made available to the media and subsequently shared with the public.
It is worth noting that the Taliban group’s claim contradicts a previous statement made by a senior official, who asserted that terrorist activities, particularly those of ISIS, have been effectively curtailed within Afghanistan under the group’s control. However, reports indicate that terrorist groups, including ISIS, continue to operate under the Taliban’s jurisdiction, perpetrating acts of violence against Afghanistani citizens, particularly targeting Shias, without hesitation.
Moreover, some citizens have put forth claims suggesting the involvement of Taliban members in the killings of non-Pashtuns. These individuals argue that the Taliban group attributes such acts to terrorist organizations like ISIS in order to further suppress these marginalized communities.
