RASC News Agency: Reports indicate that the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has organized comprehensive mental support seminars for Afghanistani women in Herat province. In an official statement, TIKA underscored its unwavering commitment to advancing the social and mental well-being of women in Herat, Afghanistan, through the strategic implementation of these vital support seminars. According to TIKA’s official statement, a thousand participants, including women grappling with job losses and students facing educational impediments, actively participated in the seminars facilitated by the agency’s proficient medical professionals and psychologists.

This progressive initiative unfolds against the disconcerting backdrop of escalating reports that spotlight heightened levels of depression and mental disorders among Afghanistani women, a direct consequence of the oppressive policies enforced by the Taliban, the current governing authority in Afghanistan. Reports elucidate constraints on girls’ education, limitations on their mobility, orchestrated societal marginalization by the Taliban, and the outright prohibition of their participation in both domestic and international institutions, all serving as contributing factors to the multifaceted mental health challenges faced by Afghanistani women. Simultaneously, a human rights organization had previously documented a distressing surge in underage marriages among women and a disturbing escalation in violent incidents, both stemming from the severe restrictions imposed by the Taliban.

It is crucial to underscore that Afghanistani women, dispersed across various regions of the country, persistently vocalize their opposition to the oppressive constraints levied by the Taliban. Each protest is met with recurring violence and suppression from this governing group, underscoring the formidable challenges these women encounter in their pursuit of freedom and equality.
