RASC News Agency: In a communique issued by Inter-Service Public Relations, General Munir conveyed the government’s resolution to repatriate Afghanistani refugees, underscoring Pakistan’s supportive stance. He accentuated that the repatriation of undocumented foreigners adheres to compassionate principles and respect, guided by predefined criteria.
General Munir underscored the paramount importance of deporting Afghanistani citizens, framing this measure as aligning with the optimal interests of the Pakistani government. In the preceding month, the coerced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan has intensified, culminating in a substantial repatriation to Afghanistan. Pakistani media reports quantify the forced deportation of over 402,000 Afghanistani immigrants, who have been compelled to return to their country of origin. Concurrently, Iran has similarly heightened its endeavors in repatriating Afghanistani refugees, with more than 400,000 migrants repatriated from Iran to Afghanistan in the recent month.
The surge in the emigration of Afghanistani citizens to neighboring countries, notably Pakistan and Iran, is attributed to multifaceted factors, chiefly the ascendancy of the Taliban in Afghanistan. This geopolitical shift has precipitated a notable uptick in Afghanistani refugees seeking sanctuary in neighboring nations. In response to the security and economic apprehensions posed by illegal migrants, General Munir and the Pakistani government have elected to repatriate Afghanistani refugees, giving precedence to the welfare and interests of Pakistan. The repatriation process is executed with compassion and respect, meticulously adhering to established criteria.
