RASC News Agency: On December 3rd, news outlets reported an incident in Balkh province where a man was accused of killing his wife in their residence. The event reportedly happened on Thursday of the previous week in the Zerahat area of the 9th district in Mazar-e-Sharif city, which is the capital of Balkh province. The victim, named Shukria, was a resident of Balkh but originally hailed from Faryab province. Sources from the province provided details about the incident.

Mohammad Zahir has been identified as the husband of the woman who was killed. He was able to escape from the scene of the crime. The Taliban officials in Balkh province have not given any statements regarding the matter. It is important to mention that there have been other instances of domestic disputes in different provinces of the country, which is a worrying trend.

The rise in criminal activities, particularly arbitrary and mysterious murders, has become more prevalent since the Taliban gained control of the country. The lack of a proper judicial system to address such cases has allowed perpetrators to easily commit these crimes and evade justice. Additionally, the marginalization of women and the absence of institutions to address their issues have contributed to a significant increase in violence against them. This incident serves as a reminder of the urgent need for effective measures to protect the rights and safety of women in Afghanistan.

Women’s lives were subjected to stringent restrictions by the Taliban group, resulting in a rise in domestic conflicts within the country. However, the absence of a responsible judicial institution hinders the investigation of these cases.
