RASC News Agency: Reports indicate that the eighth graduation ceremony of university students in Ghor province was held in the presence of local Taliban officials. Abdul Ali Labib, the head of the Taliban group for Ghor Province University, addressed the gathering and announced that 270 students had obtained graduation certificates from the colleges of education and agriculture at the university. The graduates, on the other hand, appealed to the Taliban group for job opportunities so that they could contribute to the development of their community using their acquired skills.
In response, Abdul Wahid Hamas, the spokesperson for the Taliban group in Ghor province, urged the graduates to utilize their scientific knowledge for the betterment of the country. In addition, the graduation ceremony for students from the Faculty of Persian Language and Literature at Balkh Province University took place without the presence of any professors or university officials. It is important to note that since the Taliban regained control of the country, the educational system has undergone significant changes, with experts expressing concerns about the introduction of extremist courses in schools and universities.
Furthermore, it is of utmost importance to know that female students have been denied access to education and universities for over two years, while male students continue to celebrate their achievements. Despite the Taliban leadership’s claims that this restriction is temporary, no progress has been made in this regard. The situation highlights the need for the Taliban group to address the gender disparity in education and provide equal opportunities for all students to pursue their academic aspirations.
