RASC News Agency: Germany recently donated €5 million worth of aid to Afghanistan, as reported by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA). This contribution was specifically allocated to the rescue and relief department, aiming to support the Afghanistani people. OCHA made this announcement through a message on social media on November 20th. It is crucial to highlight that Germany’s aid comes at a time when Afghanistan is grappling with several crises, including the plight of deportees from Pakistan and Iran, and being under the control of the Taliban.
Furthermore, the United Nations has expressed its plans to donate $10 million to assist the refugees who have been forcibly expelled from Pakistan into Afghanistan. However, the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan has intensified due to the deportation of Afghanistani refugees, who now face dire challenges such as a lack of essential facilities, housing, and job opportunities, especially with the winter season approaching. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has raised concerns over these worsening conditions under Taliban control.
Additionally, the deported immigrants’ lack of access to health facilities has further jeopardized their well-being, making them susceptible to infectious diseases such as diarrhea and respiratory illnesses, as highlighted by the World Health Organization. International migration organizations have expressed deep concern regarding the situation faced by these refugees deported from Pakistan to Afghanistan. The International Rescue Committee has emphasized that, despite the humanitarian and economic crisis, Afghanistan, under the Taliban’s rule, is ill-equipped to accommodate and support these migrants.
