RASC News Agency: According to reports from Nimroz Province, it has been reported that the Taliban recently detained two soldiers from the former government in that region. On Sunday, November 19th, the media was informed that these two soldiers were apprehended by the Taliban in Pul-e-Abrisham, which is located in Nimroz province. The detained soldiers have been identified as Gholam Mohammad Nazari and Asifullah Azimi, both residents of Rostaq district in Takhar province. Nazari served as an officer in the Ministry of National Defense, while Azimi held a position in the Ministry of Interior during the republican regime.

Sources reveal that these ex-military personnel sought asylum in Iran following the Taliban’s takeover of the nation. They cited economic hardships and fear of the group as their reasons for seeking refuge. However, after being expelled from Iran, the Taliban detained these former government soldiers in Nimroz province. This development is significant, given that the Taliban has been known to arrest, torture, and even kill soldiers from the previous government in various provinces, despite the group’s leader announcing a general amnesty. It is worth mentioning that many soldiers from the previous government, including Nazari and Azimi, fled the country and sought shelter in neighboring nations due to concerns, particularly their fear of the Taliban.

Nevertheless, reports indicate that these soldiers from the former government, along with other Afghanistani refugees who sought refuge in neighboring countries, are facing numerous challenges, including forced deportations. Despite their efforts to escape the Taliban’s control, these individuals continue to encounter difficulties and uncertainties in their new host countries. This situation sheds light on the ongoing struggles faced by those associated with the previous government and the obstacles they encounter even after leaving Afghanistan.
